(Un)Loved Modern Conference

APT Australia Chapter is pleased to announce the (Un)Loved Modern conference on 20thC heritage.

Organised by Australia ICOMOS in association with APT Australia Chapter, DOCOMOMO Australia, ICOMOS ISC20C, RAIA and UIA, this conference will be held at the Sydney Masonic Centre in Sydney, Australia from 7-10 July 2009.  APT Australia Chapter members are involved in many aspects of the coordination of this conference.

Preliminary details are available on this flyer, a conference website is being established, and further information will be circulated in due course.  APT Australia Chapter members will be eligible for the member registration rate at the conference.

I draw your attention to the call for abstracts – these are due by 28 September 2008.

The technical strand is being coordinated by David West and Elisha Long, and the sub-theme on “Managing 20thC obsolescence” is being coordinated by Peter Mckenzie and Jacqui Goddard.  Please contact any of us if you have an interest in presenting a paper at this conference.

There is already considerable interest in this conference from overseas, and we are optimistic that it will attract some prominent speakers from the US and Europe.

We look forward to seeing you at this exciting conference.
